"Choate is the dog who got me started in the dog trial world. He was truly a special boy, almost human. That dog seemed to know every word I said. We had a very special bond.

Choate started out as a 'truck dog', riding along while I transported horses around the country. Tony Whitmire asked me if I was going to trial him. I'd never heard of such a thing. Later I hooked up with a herding group in Boise, Idaho... and the rest is history.

I do miss that boy! Everyone who knew him liked him, he was a great one. "
